Together with the Bat Conservation Trust, we crafted a bespoke helpline database that transforms how they support Britain's precious bat populations. Replacing their outdated system, our solution makes life easier for everyone—from the dedicated volunteers answering calls to the bats themselves. The new platform guides call handlers with intuitive forms, captures rich data for reporting, and has simplified volunteer training from a 100-page manual to just three pages. With over over a million lines of data carefully migrated, this project shows how thoughtful digital solutions can help protect our vital UK wildlife through better data and more personal support.

We helped Inspire North unify their digital presence by building a single Wagtail site that replaced a patchwork of WordPress and Squarespace platforms. Working closely with their team, we created a clear, accessible experience that helps users find support in just three clicks—on time for their merger deadline. The result: a streamlined, user-first platform that reflects their new identity.

Through workshops and side-by-side collaboration, we created a platform where they can publish in multiple languages (with AI helping translate), build stunning campaign pages themselves, and show their global impact with an interactive map, and create other compelling content through smart workflows. The Refugee Council's new digital platform brings their powerful brand to life online while making vital services accessible to those who need them most. Co-created with people with lived experience, the site offers intuitive navigation, multilingual support, and streamlined donation pathways. The user-centred design amplifies refugee voices while making it easier for supporters to engage with the Refugee Council's mission to support refugees to rebuild their lives, integrate into communities and play a part in Britain.

Explore the interactive map to find heritage sites near you, delve into in-depth historical content, and stay updated with heritage-related events and news. Whether you're a researcher, history enthusiast, or simply curious about Methodist history, the platform provides accessible, engaging content for all visitors.

Web accessibility is a crucial aspect of modern website design, yet it's often overlooked or considered too challenging to fully implement. Sight Concern Bedfordshire, a local sight impairment charity, aimed to change this perception.

The Fair Shot movement, a collaboration between the Refugee Council and Comic Relief, unites football fans to promote fairness and compassion by hosting friendly matches between refugees and club supporters. Launched in May 2024 with a dynamic website created by The Developer Society, Fair Shot harnesses the universal language of football to bridge communities and turn passion into meaningful social impact.

The Developer Society rapidly created a brand for Debt Hacker, a new campaign organisation addressing short-term loan industry issues. Working collaboratively with a team of specialists, we developed a cohesive visual identity and brand toolkit in just weeks, enabling Debt Hacker to quickly establish its presence and tackle urgent financial justice concerns.

The Leprosy Mission GB partnered with the Developer Society to rebuild their digital presence. Using agile methodology and the open-source Wagtail CMS, we created a sustainable, flexible website that aligns with their budget. This collaborative approach empowered TLM GB to independently maintain and evolve their digital strategy.

Partnering with Scotland's Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline, the Developer Society helped make it more user-friendly and secure with new features like texting services and enhanced safety measures. This rapid overhaul, completed in just five months, greatly improved SDAFMH's ability to support vulnerable callers and packed in five years' worth of planned upgrades.

The UK eating disorder charity, Beat, was looking to rebuild its HelpFinder platform- the first national, comprehensive directory of services and supports for eating disorders that even the NHS links to. Since its relaunch, thousands of people access it per month to search for local support in their communities.

Global Optimism teamed up with the Developer Society to revamp their core brand and podcast websites. Through workshops with diverse voices, we captured their energy and passion. The result? Two visually stunning, interconnected sites with cohesive sub-branding that resonated harmoniously while remaining uniquely engaging.

Since 1959, the Charles Darwin Foundation has been a leading voice in environmental research and conservation. The Developer Society partnered with them to create a stunning website that showcases their crucial work in the Galapagos Islands. Together, we overcame unique challenges, including poor local bandwidth and extensive content migration, to deliver a modern, engaging platform. Built on Wagtail CMS, the new site effectively highlights the Foundation's scientific research and environmental impact, bringing their important mission to life for a global audience.

Working with the Helplines Partnership, we laid the groundwork for their digital transformation. We redesigned their website based on user research, streamlined back-office processes, and integrated Wagtail CMS with Airtable. This customisable system improves user experience and provides a scalable foundation for the organisation's future growth.

The Developer Society has had the opportunity to partner with All Out on multiple occasions, including a Valentine's Day campaign to highlight global LGBT+ challenges. We created an engaging digital experience blending serious content with a light-hearted approach. This creative strategy amplified All Out's message, contributing to their ongoing efforts to mobilise supporters for love and equality worldwide.

A generation ago, 70% of people in Britain walked to school - now it’s less than half that. Living Streets came to us with a clear problem they needed to fix, and, appropriately, it was traffic based: they needed to revamp Travel Tracker for their Walk to School Challenge. We rebuilt the system to handle peak traffic, improving registration and data visualisation. The new tool manages up to 140,000 daily registrations—double the previous capacity—motivating thousands of children to adopt active school travel habits.

As the UK’s leading suicide prevention charity, Samaritans volunteers respond to around 10,000 calls for help every day. They needed more volunteers than ever to meet the growing demand for their helpline. We helped them develop an intuitive, volunteer-led dashboard to support Samaritans volunteers with their lifesaving work.

With increasing attacks on community groups, NGOs, charities and other civil society organisations across the world, CIVICUS needed a way to document the global pattern of repression, aggregating data from their members to pull together a picture of a complex global trend. The Developer Society partnered with CIVICUS to create the CIVICUS Monitor, a tool mapping global civic space. We developed a system that aggregates worldwide data into a user-friendly platform, beautifully visualising complex trends in civil society repression. This empowers activists and journalists with crucial information at their fingertips.
